Why are we here?

Girls’ are not interested in tech. Why is that? The answer is simple.

WE MAKE IT BORING FOR THEM.

Technology is changing our lives. It is becoming a part of everything we do. It will be key in 9 out of 10 jobs in the future. And girls are still not interested in it.

It’s not because technology is boring to them. It’s because the way we introduce it is not interesting to them.

Cars. Construction machines. Super-robots. Blue whatever. You get it… This is how most of the tech projects are presented to them. To the girls!

So, we are starting a free weekly newsletter to suggest fun content, activities, and products that will engage girls' interest in technology

What do we write about?

Join in and get weekly tips on encouraging girls’ interest in technology.

We’ll recommend:

  • Fun activities to do with a detailed tutorial,

  • Things you can make, also with a step-by-step guide,

  • Movies and videos to watch,

  • Books to read,

  • Ways to entertain and teach several girls at once, for activities with friends,

  • Great resources (websites, organizations, social media channels, etc.) to follow.

We’ll help you implement at least one of them every week, whether you have 5 minutes, or a full day.

Who is this for?

This is a great resource for parents who want to introduce a diverse and more fun approach to technology to their daughters.

It’s also great for teachers who want to make their technology classes more inclusive!

I don’t want to push my daughter. How is this different?

Two things are important to keep girls engaged in technology: consistency and relatability.

If they usually don’t play with cars or robots, why do we think they’ll enjoy doing it when it’s tech-enhanced?

To counter the mainstream portrayal of technology as something that is not made for girls, you have to be consistent in showcasing exactly the opposite.

This is where our newsletter comes in! Every week we’ll give you several ideas on how to keep girls engaged in technology, some of which you can do in 5 minutes or less.

We’ll curate the content for you, and suggest great books, movies, projects and activities that will show that technology is a tool that we choose how to use — whether it is making cars smarter, or designing jewelry.
