Hi, it’s time for us to share some new suggestions of what you can do together with your daughter to make technology fun for her :)
The topic for today is — the reuse of old computer parts :) You too probably have them in some box in your home!
1 — Computer parts deconstruction
This project is really about using what you have available. The author went to the recycling center for some computer parts and came home with a keyboard, monitor, and printer. Some of that you or your friends could have handy, for sure :)
Check out what they did here.
2 — Make computer keyboard jewelry
Old and broken keyboards can be used to create cool projects and awesome jewelry! Check out the instructions here or here, and feel free to improvise!
3 — Reusing the circuits
Motherboards and circuits could be great for making jewelry, too. Especially the small ones (which probably exist in some of your kid’s toys that are broken). But, you can make neat bookmarks too, like the ones here!
4 — A twist — after deconstructing, draw the computer
This is a fun and engaging way to teach kids about the parts of a computer, especially once you have done the deconstruction. With these easy-to-follow instructions and endless possibilities for customization, you’ll have lots of fun!
Have fun and let us know how it went! And don’t forget to help us grow the community — the more girls your daughter is surrounded within these activities, the less you have to try (and all of us, too).
