How to encourage girls' interest in tech — Newsletter No.34
Every 2nd Tuesday of October, the world celebrates Ada Lovelace Day in honor of the first programmer ever.
Born in 1815, Ada Lovelace was a visionary scientist who wrote the first algorithm ever to be implemented in a computer, becoming the first programmer and laying the foundations of computer science as we know it.
On this special day, we’ve made something special for you.
It’s an eBook for your kids to read, focused on Ada’s story. We have tried to emphasize parts of her story that the research shows are relevant for women and girls to get interested in technology, such as:
how she was encouraged by her mom early on
the importance of the access she had to continue learning and grow
how new perspectives and diversity in technology can help see things in a completely different light
